The Heart of Wiltshire

The huge open skies and horizons of Salisbury Plain.

The wildness of the Plain with wide horizons. The huge unpolluted night skies are ideal for the astronomer.  Come and Star Gaze and attend or lead a class.

Delightful villages, each with its quintessential church and often excellent pub providing good food.

Within an hour in any direction, the landscape changes.  The chalky downland of the Plain leads through Salisbury to the gentleness of Hampshire and the New Forest; the intriguing Juarassic Coast of Dorset beckons; Glastonbury and the Somerset Levels and the great Cheddar Gorge intrigue; exquisite Bath for shopping and culture.  The Kennet and Avon Canal passes through Devizes.  Marlborough and Winchester are close. Windsor is an hour's drive.  Avon, Gloucester and Surrey a little more... there is so much to see.
